A native New Yorker, Tanisha M. John, is an entrepreneur and Community Liaison who organizes events throughout Brooklyn. Introverted and sensitive as child, Tanisha began writing poetry at the age of eight as a way to express her personal thoughts and experiences. Over the years, Tanisha has compiled a unique collection of poetry based on an array of subjects such as love, social issues, personal revelation and reveries. 

Tanisha has shaped her own destiny and developed her own identity in her poetry. Her first book of poetry, Because of Love, was self-published in 1998 in a short run press and her second book, Dreamer: A Poetic Visionary Journey was released in June 2009.  Tanisha enrolled at Brooklyn College in 1991, is currently a student of metaphysics and a member of  the NRA.

In addition to her love of words, Tanisha is a Reiki Master/Teacher, trained in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of healing. She has been practicing Reiki for 10 years, and specializes in Distant Healing.
